The deadline for submission is March 31, 2018. Acceptable modalities for presentations are: Posters Audiovisuals Art Pieces

The Organizing Committee calls on attendees to submit proposals for presentations to enrich discussion and debate. Your presentation can be in the form of:

  • A Poster Presentation
  • An Audiovisual Piece
  • An Art Piece

The due date for proposals is Saturday, March 31, 2018 at 12:00PM PST.

Submissions should be related to any of the following suggested topics:

  • To evaluate the impact of community-based educational practices modeled after Popular Education, in relation to its subjects and their environments and/or experiences
  • The transformative impact on subjects and their environments with respect to Paulo Freire’s theories
  • The primary factors that facilitate or limit the incorporation of Popular Education practices in today’s diverse educational environments
  • Identify the ethical and aesthetic values that have been promoted from the practices seen in Popular Education
  • The challenges that limit the improvement in the process of evaluation, as they pertain to perfecting the incorporation of Popular Education in the development of a new education
  • To create and promote art through our educational practices. Your outcome is a guarantee to your improvement
  • The challenges experienced in evaluating the impacts on youth; in their experiences as well as, how Popular Education has strengthened them, and assisted them in socializing
  • Evaluating the impact and outcome of processes of Inclusive Education, Popular Education, and experiences gained; as well as, challenges both in the present and near future

How to Submit Your Proposal

Posters and Audiovisual Presentations: Applicants who wish to submit a poster session or audiovisual piece must submit two summaries of the work they would like to present: the first is a 100-word summary and the second up to three pages. Both should be written in Arial 12 font, 1.5 spacing and 1″ (2.5 cm) margins all around. If you are summarizing an audiovisual, then it should also include the length (mm:ss) of the presentation.

Art Piece: Applicants who would like to engage in the discussion with an art piece in honor of Paulo Freire must submit their work in a digital format (photo or video) with a technical description of the artistic creation. The art work should be inspired by Paulo Freire or his educational practices, and reflect and evaluate the impacts they have had. If your art piece is a performance, please also include the length (mm:ss) of the presentation.

Presentations for 2nd International Workshop on Inclusive Education: Applicants who would like to submit for the 2nd International Workshop on Inclusive Education should have their projects and research topics relate to ideas that influence Cuba and other countries in the development of Inclusive Educational practices. Priority will be given to works that focus on Inclusive Education with community involvement, based on creativity, equality, and communication. We will be looking at policies and practices of Inclusive Education as it relates to Popular Education and the evaluation of the impact it has had.
