CUBA TIES 8 REGISTRATION OPENS

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE —

Registration Now Open for the 8th Workshop of Strategic Alliances for the Internationalization of Higher Education (Cuba TIES 8)

The organizing committee for Cuba TIES 8, the 8th Workshop of Strategic Alliances for the Internationalization of Higher Education, is pleased to announce that registration is now open for its annual workshop. This workshop will be held from October 24-27, 2023 on the campus of la Universidad de Cienfuegos and in locations around the historic center of the city. Cuba TIES is a unique opportunity for educators, administrators, and researchers from around the world to engage in dialogue and explore ways to enhance international collaboration in higher education.

“Building bridges and finding collaborative approaches to internationalization has always been the purpose of Cuba TIES,” states Dr. Orquídea Urquiola, Rector of La Universidad de Cienfuegos. “We hope that Cuba TIES is an event that will continue to inspire, as it shows us year after year what we can accomplish when we work together as friends.”

At Cuba TIES 8, delegates can learn from Cuban colleagues in international education and leaders from around the world. The workshop will consist of keynote addresses, panel discussions, interactive sessions, and posters. Delegates will have opportunities to network with colleagues from a variety of disciplines and backgrounds. The goal of the workshop is to foster greater understanding and cooperation between higher education institutions and to promote best practices in internationalization.

Participants also have the chance to participate in the annual Cuba TIES Softball Classic, a softball game with members of the community. The game takes place in “Cinco de Septiembre” Stadium, home to the Cuban Major League Team, Los Elefantes. Delegates will also meet and exchange with some of Cuba’s hall-of-fame baseball players.

Cuba TIES 8 is co-founded by La Universidad de Cienfuegos and Civitas Global Education Services, a leading provider of international education consulting and program development services in Cuba. “We are excited to bring together such a diverse group of educators and researchers to explore ways to strengthen international collaborations,” said Dairo Enrique Moreno, President of Civitas Global Education Services. “Cuba TIES 8 will be a valuable opportunity for participants to learn from one another, develop new partnerships, and address real-time challenges that can benefit their institutions and students.”

Registration for Cuba TIES 8 is now open and can be accessed at CivitasGES.com/cuba-ties-viii. Early bird registration is available until June 30, 2023, and space is limited, so interested parties are encouraged to register as soon as possible.
