We’re are excited to announce that a delegation from the University of Cienfuegos, Cuba (UCf) will attend this year’s NAFSA Annual Conference in Denver. The delegation includes, Dr. Juan Bautista Cogollos, Rector (President), Professor Dictinio Diaz Gonzalez, Ms. Lourdes Pomares Castellon, Director of the Office of International Relations and Ms. Dayni Diaz Mederos, Academic Specialist for the Office of International Relations. The participation of Dr. Cogollos marks the first time a Cuba university president attends the NAFSA Annual Conference.

Hosted by Civitas Global Educational Services and NAFSA, the delegation’s participation is also a part of NAFSA’s Cuba Engagement Initiative. For years, NAFSA has been a strong advocate of building partnerships, repealing the US Embargo to Cuba and supporting academic freedom and mobility on both sides of the Florida Straits.
