The Faculty of Physical Culture of the University of Cienfuegos, the Cienfuegos 45+ Softball League, and Civitas GES invite you to pack your glove, bat and cleats to play in the first Cuba TIES Fall Classic. A friendly softball game which will become an annual tradition will take place on Thursday, October 25. Participants of Cuba TIES and all of the other workshops of the 2nd International Scientific Conference are encouraged to play in a friendly softball game along with players from the league. It is your opportunity to participate in our shared national past time on Cuban soil. Men and women of all ages are welcome to play.
Players will be randomly divided made up of Cuban and international players. This year’s TIES Fall Classic will be a 6-inning game, followed by a celebration of newfound friendships.
The Cienfuegos 45+ League began in 2008 as a community project to promote mens’ health and wellness. The Faculty of Physical Culture for UCf and the provincial government support the league. Games results are logged throughout the season and are often officiated by Cuban Major League officials. Winners go on to play in tournaments against other provinces. Players come from all parts of the local community including retired Cuban League players.

The Faculty of Physical Culture for the University of Cienfuegos is hosting the I International Workshop on Physical Culture, Sports and Recreation in Higher Education. The workshop is one of the 11 workshops under the umbrella of the 2nd International Conference of Cienfuegos that convenes the week of October 22 to October 26, 2018.
