FIRST WORKSHOP ON INTERNATIONALIZATION OF HIGHER EDUCATION
The International Relations Office at the University of Holguín, Cuba, calls for its” First Workshop on Internationalization of Higher Education: Challenges and trends”.
The workshop will be held within the framework of the 11th International Scientific Conference of the University of Holguín, from April 26 to 28, 2023.
The Internationalization process constitutes a key aspect to overcome the strong challenges and unavoidable processes to which a Higher Education institution is entitled. Its development has allowed international cooperation to be progressively incorporated into the processes of generation of knowledge, technology development and innovation thus it has resulted as an intrinsic component of these processes.
The main objective of the workshop is to promote the debate on the challenges and trends of the internationalization of Higher Education nowadays.
The main themes proposed are:
- The role of Higher Education Institutions in regional and international integration
- Internationalization in the process of international accreditation of Higher Education Institutions
- Multicultural integration in the internationalization of higher education
- Collaboration through the signing of international agreements
- International projects as a means of collaboration
- The role of international networks and associations in the development of higher education
- Current trends in the use of Information and Communication Technologies and the internationalization of Higher Education

PRESENTATION & HANDOUTS: March 17, 2023
FINAL PAPERS FOR PUBLICATION: March 20, 2023
To submit a paper for publishing, the participant should communicate via email with the coordinator. The accepted papers will be published in a compendium edited by the University publishing house “Conciencia Ediciones”, which will be accessible online.
Abstract Format
- Descriptive abstract between 700 and 900 words (in Spanish or English)
- Word format document, 10 point Arial font, justified text, no spacing and single spacing
- All margins, 1 inch
- Title: sustained and justified capital letter (up to 15 words in Spanish and their translation in English or vice versa)
- Keywords
- Authors (up to three): Name(s) and Surnames / affiliation and country / e-mail of each one of the authors. The main or corresponding author should appear first
- Introduction
- Methodology used
- Results and Discussion
- Conclusions
- Bibliographic Reference: APA v7 format, in order of appearance and only the one cited in the text of the report (this section is not included within the 900 words)
Workshop Format
The workshop will be held in a hybrid format with in-person and virtual participation. Virtual participation will be held on the second day of the conference. The session will end with the signing of agreements and letters of intent for for new and exisiting partnerships.
