The Cathedral of the Virgin Mary of the Immaculate Conception

HAVANA October 28 – 29, 2017
On the Saturday after TIES 2017, we’ll jump on the bus and head north to the Capital city of Havana. Accompanied by a history professor from the University of Cienfuegos, you’ll get a historian’s perspective on the city and the world famous Habana Vieja. You’ll spend the night, October 28 in the heart of the city. Be prepared to do a lot of walking.

GIRÓN October 28 – 29, 2017
Spend the day visiting the location of one of the most defining moments in modern US-Cuba relations, Playa Girón also known as the Bay of Pigs. Accompanied by a professor from the University of Cienfuegos, this will be a day long exchange. Spend the morning visiting the museum and learning about the battle from the Cuban perspective. In the afternoon, you’ll explore one of the beaches where the battle took place. Be sure to bring swimwear and water shoes.

Once you have registered for TIES, email us at CubaPrograms@CivitasGES.com and let us know which bonus exchange you would like to join. If you join a bonus exchange, you will return to Miami on Sunday, October 29. If you do not select a bonus exchange, you will return to Miami on Saturday, October 28, 2017.

We will accept bonus exchange registrations until September 19, 2017.
