The call for Papers is now open. This year, we are accepting abstracts for papers, posters and audiovisual presentations.
Abstracts will be accepted until July 15, 5:00 PM PST. Indicate in your abstract your intended form of presentation.
Main Topic: Internationalization, Networking and Local Development
Objectives:
- To promote a reflexive debate on the impact of the teaching-learning process of foreign languages on international collaboration and local development.
- To promote the exchange of working experiences and strategies for the integration and active role of international offices for local development and the internationalization of Higher Education.
- To reflect on the student´s cultural, academic and scientific work and its impact on internationalization of Higher Education and local development.
Topics:
- Language, communication and culture (Pearlanguage Symposium “Dra. Dolores Corona in Memoriam”).
- SIOs and their active role in networking and local development.
- Internationalization: impact on the sustainability of local development.
- The role of students in the internationalization of Higher Education at home.
Forms of Participation: Workshops, symposium, lectures, expositions.
Presentation Formats: Papers, posters, audiovisuals.

How To Be Accepted:
Step 1: Submit an Abstract & CV
Send an electronic copy of your curriculum vitae and a 500-word abstract of your proposed paper via e-mail to the TIES Scientific Review Committee at: TIES@CivitasGES.com.
Step 2: Submit Your Proposal
Upon acceptance of your abstract by the Scientific Committee, submit a paper that is no longer than 10 pages, double spaced in Arial 12pt. font. The scientific committee will use your paper to evaluate your acceptance to present in one of our commissions.
TIES 2017 is a bilingual conference. Papers may be in either English or Spanish. Presentations will be translated by interpreters.
Each presentation is limited to 20 minutes, but 5-10 minutes of that time will be taken up by the interpreter. We recommend that your written paper be no longer than 10 pages, double-spaced (Arial 12 pt. font).
BE PUBLISHED
If your proposal is accepted for the conference, you will receive more information about how you can submit the finished paper for consideration for publication in one of the University of Cienfuegos’ scholarly journals or in the selected proceedings of the conference.
