Universidad de Sancti Spiritus

La Universidad de Sancti Spiritus “Jose Marti Perez” was founded on September 22, 1983. Although one of the new institutions of higher education in Cuba, it has graduated over 30,000 professionals in varying specialties from its five different faculties. The University has contributed significantly to the social development of the region.

UNISS’s mission is to satisfy with quality, in virtual and face-to-face spaces, the training needs of integral professionals, revolutionary, and committed to the solution of problems of the territory of Sancti Spiritus and the nation. The educators and students are characterized by their creative spirit and their political-ideological firmness.

The institution strives to guarantee a postgraduate education, knowledge management, and innovation for scientific production, both technological and cultural with high economic-social impact. The training of the cadres and reserves of the territory for governance, from a science and innovation management system, contributes to the construction of a socialist, prosperous, and sustainable society.

UNISS is characterized by the social positioning gained through the systematic work of projects linked to science and technology, as well as those of a community and extension nature; by the development of quality events with the presence of specialists and national and international authorities; and by the provision of services and spaces to the entire community of Spiritus.
