Building Bridges in the Arts: Civitas GES Joins the University Network for the Arts (RUA)

International networks play a key role in supporting collaboration, innovation in teaching, and cross-disciplinary dialogue in the arts. In this context, Civitas GES is pleased to announce its membership in the Red Universitaria de Artes (RUA), or University Network for the Arts. Founded in Havana, Cuba, in 2014, RUA is an initiative focused on improving arts education and academic cooperation among institutions.

RUA was created to strengthen coordination among university-level arts educators. Since its founding, it has grown into a network of more than thirty institutions from Latin America, Africa, and Europe. Guided by shared principles, the network collaborates to enrich academic programs, research, and outreach in the arts through collaboration and knowledge exchange.

RUA’s focus includes evaluating and accrediting arts programs, encouraging academic and cultural exchange, supporting research, and improving institutional and administrative structures in arts education. The network also works on strategies for international cooperation, communication, and sustainable development through joint projects and fundraising efforts.

As a member of RUA, Civitas GES is committed to connecting institutions through collaboration with the shared goal of building lasting relationships that foster academic and artistic growth. We will facilitate exchange among institutions, artists, and researchers, support joint academic and creative projects, and drive the development of globally oriented curricula.

Civitas GES and other RUA member institutions will benefit significantly from the network’s ongoing collaborations. These exchanges will support the organization of events, the publication of works, and the dissemination of specialized knowledge through lectures and academic forums. With the next RUA meeting scheduled for 2027, this is an ideal moment for engagement. As the network continues to grow throughout the world, it offers an exciting opportunity for students and scholars alike to contribute to and shape its future development.
