Softball Quality-of-Life Continues in Cienfuegos

CIENFUEGOS, CUBA – Civitas GES has had the distinct pleasure to collaborate with and support Softball Quality-of-Life, a community project in the city of Cienfuegos. Over fifty residents come together every Sunday to play softball and promote men’s health in the province for its senior citizens. Recently, local television station, Perlavision paid a visit to the league as it was celebrating the opening of its 8th season. With their permission and of the league, we’ve provided subtitles to give you a closer understanding of the league and what it means to the community and those who play.

Members of Softball Quality-of-Life have been gracious to participate in some of our study abroad programs. The Workshop of Strategic Alliances for the Internationalization of Higher Education (Cuba TIES) includes an invitation to play with the league during the conference every October. Some of the proceeds from Cuba TIES go towards buying equipment and other materials to help support the league.
