The Faculty of Arts & Communication of the University of Holguín issues its call for papers for the XIV International Congress on Foreign Languages, Communication and Culture (WEFLA 2020). WEFLA 2020 will be held right on the coast at the Hotel Club Amigo Atlántico-Guardalavaca. It will run parallel to the XIV International Seminar on Canadian Studies.
The conference is supported by the Canadian Embassy to Cuba, Western University, the Universities of Trois Rivieres, Ottawa and Sherbrooke, St. Thomas University, the University of Toronto-Mississauga, the Facultad de Idiomas of the Universidad Autónoma de Baja California, Mexico, Civitas GES, and ETS.

WEFLA and the Canadian Studies Seminar seek to foster international cooperation through the presentation of research findings and the discussion of experiences and best practices in the field of second and foreign language teaching, communication, cultural issues, as well as in Canadian Studies.

The Academic Committee invites established academics and early-career scholars as well as students, to submit proposals for keynotes, individual papers, posters, panels, round tables, and workshops by March 15th, 2020. The current US administration has taken measures to limit flights to Havana and has prohibited all flights from the US directly to provinces in Cuba outside of Havana as of March 10, 2020. Due to new restrictions that will be in place when this program occurs, we have arranged a convenient legal option from Miami to Holguín to make the most out of your travel to Cuba.
